ARC Raiders has become the surprise hit of November, pulling in 3.5 million Steam sales during the month and taking the #1 spot by both revenue and copies sold. A big part of its November success came from timing and momentum. It launched just ahead of the holiday sale rush and immediately took over Steam's global top sellers list—even during Call of Duty's release week, which is usually untouchable. Throughout the month, it regularly held top positions on the weekly charts, often trailing only behind hardware like the Steam Deck. 

Sunday evenings became its strongest period, with noticeable spikes around 20:00–21:00 UTC as players settled into their routine. The growth was fast too: from 354,836 peak players on November 2 to almost 30% weekly increases early on, and then a steady plateau instead of the usual post-launch crash. Social buzz didn't hurt either, with Reddit threads and X posts praising it as one of the most exciting releases of 2025.

What makes the game stand out is how its moment-to-moment action feels more physical and unpredictable than what most shooters offer. Fights rely heavily on sound cues and physics, so you start to recognize the whir of approaching drones, the rumble of a roaming giant, or even the scrape of other players trying to flank you. The game's four surface maps and the underground hub of Speranza form a loop that encourages scavenging, crafting, and improvisation, without forcing players into a rigid playstyle. Its blend of extraction pressure and over-the-top action gives ARC Raiders a niche that feels strangely wide. It avoids the hardcore grind and frustration of Tarkov while still keeping a layer of intensity that free-to-play shooters can't always replicate. The game also avoids pay-to-win pitfalls, leaning entirely on skill, awareness, and exploiting machine weak points. ARC Raiders' AAA presentation—its physics, weather systems, and constantly evolving map layouts—kept it far above the pack.

Those who've put in dozens of hours praise the game for how "alive" its systems feel, from the snap and weight of its guns to the unpredictability of each run. Social interactions happen naturally instead of being forced, and the endgame loop has kept players engaged far longer than most new shooters manage.
